Preserving Dual Purpose Irish Setters

Pups at 9 weeks

I worked the remaining pups on birds today and they were incredible.  I could stand with the lead loose on all of them, some for so long that multiple photos were taken.  They are super fun to train.  Another leaves friday for her new home.  I have males available, one or two for companions and the rest for hunting companion or trial/test homes.

I got word last night that one of Hope's last litter won another field trial and placed.  Mark Bunter's Russell's Odysseus won the Amateur Walking Derby at the Gordon trial in California (his second win at the derby level - his first being an Open derby win at an all breed trial.)  MArk also started his dog in Amateur Gun Dog (15 mos old!) and placed third!  This dog and his owner have run three times and placed all three!  This is the second dog in the litter to have a blue ribbon as Lisa and Viva won an Open puppy stake and my own Opie has a derby second.

I have decided to sel my TWH Squirrel as he is  just too tall for me now, so if you know of anyone looking, he is 5 yrs and a great horse needing mothing but hours to make him a fabulous trial horse.
